Timun Emas
Long time ago in the Java Island, there were old parent. Old parents were poor. They were farmer but poor. They had married but they had no children. They were always prayed to God to gave them children. They said, “Oh My God, I want to baby”. Buto Ijo through their home and hear about this. Buto Ijo was Bad Giant. after that, old parent knew Buto Ijo was outside their home. “What do you want? Do you want to eat us?”, , “Hua.. haa…haa…
Buto Ijo answered “Huaaa…ha…ha… No, Do you want baby?”.
Mother answered: “Yes, I want. How I can that?”, then, Buto Ijo gave old parent to seed of cucumber. Buto Ijo gave granted one condition, if the baby had grow on seventeen years old, them must sacrifice the baby.Old parent thank about this, then they were agreed about this.“I give you baby, but you must promise. If this baby had grown up on seventeen years old, you must give to me for sacrifice to my. I wanted to eat fresh meat of human.” Old parent answered, “Yes, I agree, Buto Ijo”. “Hua..aaa…aa Okay, I come back again on seventeen years old.” Buto Ijo gave seeds of Timun. “Thank you, Buto Ijo”.
After that, old parent planted seed of cucumber. After few days, old parent picked bigger cucumber. They opened bigger cucumber and emerge girl of baby. They gave name Timun Emas.
The baby grow up become beautiful and smart gril. She was very diligent. But, old parent felt afraid, cause Buto Ijo came back and eating their daughter. Old parent went to shaman. Shaman gave old parent to several bamboo needles, seeds of cucumber and salt. “I give you several bamboo needles, seeds of cucumber and salt. If danger time, this is can used”. “Thank you, Shaman”.
After six year, Buto Ijo addicted his promised to old parent, “Where is your baby?” old parent felt afraid. Then, old father said, “I don’t know. May be she go to field rice.” Buto Ijo went to Field rice, but he did not find Timun Emas. Old parent gave Timun Emas several bamboo needles, seeds of cucumber and salt. Old parent said “You must leave us.” “Why I must leave you?” “Because, Buto Ijo will eat you”.
He came back to old parent’s home, old mother ordered Timun Emas for leaving to home cause there is Buto Ijo. Then, Buto Ijo came back to old parent’s home, he gave question again. “Where is you baby?”. Old parent said, “I don’t know”. Buto Ijo knew Timun Emas. Timun emas leaft to forest. Buto Ijo was angry.
Then, He was just several steps behind Timun Emas. Timus felt afraid, she threw her seeds of cucumber. After that, forest changed cucumber of forest. Buto Ijo was very thirsty and hungry, he ate all cucumbers. Timun Emas knew Buto Ijo eat cucumber, she run fast. “Hu..aa…a.. I want to sleep, Timun Emas, I would find you!” after, Buto Ijo got up. He could run again.
Then, he was just several steps behind Timun Emas. Timun Emas felt afraid, she threw her bamboo needles. Cucumber of Forest changed bamboo forest. Buto Ijo was difuculty for exit from forest. Timun Emas knew Buto Ijo can not exiting forest, Timun Emas run fast again.
Few hour, then, Buto Ijo can exit from bamboo of forest. “Hua…haa.. you can’t leave to me!”. He was just several steps behind Timun Emas.
Finally, Timun Emas very was tired and feel very afraid. She threw her salt to Buto Ijo. Bamboo forest changed lake. Buto Ijo was sink. “Help me!, help me!” then, Buto Ijo was died into lake. After this, Timun Emas gave thanks to God about her happiness.
