Conjuctions

We commonly join words, phrases and/ or sentences together in a narrative. The words to join are called conjuctions.

e.g:

Ø  I seized the cat, took a small knife out of my pocket and cut one of its eyes out.

Ø  I hung the poor creature until it was dead.

Ø  I soon began to dislike the cat because it often started at me with a strange and hatred look.

Ø  After my wife had been buried in the wall, the police came to my house.

Example:

Ø  The village was flooded. It had been raining continuously for several days.

Ø  His grandgather is sixty years old. He has white hair all over his head. He is still very healthy.
